Madeira is a dream for any hiker, with its dramatic cliffs, lush valleys, and winding trails that lead to breathtaking views at every turn. My hiking trip through this island was a journey of discovery, both in terms of nature and my own connection to the land. The island’s volcanic landscapes, terraced hillsides, and deep ravines create a sense of adventure, while the peaceful, almost mystical atmosphere makes every step feel like a part of something much bigger. From the levadas (irrigation channels) that guide you through the heart of the island to the rugged peaks that seem to touch the sky, Madeira’s natural beauty is awe-inspiring. Through my photos, I wanted to capture not just the stunning landscapes but the feeling of being immersed in nature, where every path and every view tells a unique story.
